Terms and Conditions

1. Application

I hereby apply for myself or my son/daughter to play cricket with the St John Bosco Youth Centre Cricket Club. I also hereby apply to the secretary of the St John Bosco Youth Centre (“the Club”) to become a member of the St John Bosco Youth Centre and agree to support its purposes and comply with its constitution.

2. Codes of Behaviour

I agree to be bound by any Codes of Behaviour and policies of the St John Bosco Youth Centre Cricket Club and the Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association (SSJCA)/Sutherland Shire Cricket Association (SSCA) for the time being in force, including Australian Cricket’s ‘Looking After Our Kids’ Code of Behaviour for Affiliated Clubs and Associations.  All relevant documents are available on the of the St John Bosco Youth Centre Cricket Club website and/or the St John Bosco Youth Centre website.

3. Helmets

Cricket Australia notes: “Players are recommended to wear a specifically designed properly fitting cricket helmet with faceguard.” The Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association has legislated to make the wearing of helmets mandatory. It is also in the player’s best interest for the helmet to conform to the relevant Australian standard (currently AS/NZ S4499:1997 ‘Protective headgear for cricket’). The provision of helmets is the responsibility of the individual player or, in the case of a junior player, his/her parents. The Club has a small number of helmets for juniors that it will make available on request but in so doing does not accept responsibility for any incidents arising out of allegations concerning the fit of the helmet or any hygiene factor. It is recommended that players and parents having concerns regarding helmets should purchase such from a recognised supplier and ensure that the purchase meets Australian Standards.

4. Publication of material

The Club in promoting the playing of cricket and encouraging participation in the sport reserves the right to use material initiated by the Club or supplied by Club members in its publications including Club newsletters, website, social media and/or yearbook provided all such material is not defamatory or injurious to any person. The use of such material shall extend to include local community newspapers and the Association competition website. Any Club member having concerns regarding invasion of privacy or breach of Privacy Laws is asked to make known any concern prior to the commencement of the cricket season.  All such wishes shall be respected. Information supplied on this registration form will be used for the Club, SSJCA and Cricket NSW purposes only. The information will not be used for marketing purposes or passed to any third parties without your consent.

5. Accident and Injury Disclaimer

I hereby agree that the Club including any of its officers and/or members shall not be held responsible for any accident, illness or injury sustained while playing, training or attending any function with the Club. Furthermore, I understand that it is my responsibility to arrange an appropriate level of insurance and/or medical cover. I also give my permission to the club to arrange medical attention that may be deemed necessary including ambulance transport and I agree to pay for all such costs incurred.

The Club reserves the right to accept or decline any registration at any time during the competition year.
